Meet the Presenters


BEVERLY CARROLL – is a Leadership Training Instructor with Child Evangelism Fellowship® Inc., serving over 25 years full-time on the mission field. She received her calling through Matthew 18:14, which states, “Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.” Beverly enjoys serving the Lord by evangelizing and discipling children and their families and equipping workers to serve. She has shared the gospel with children and trained workers in various states in the U.S. In addition, she has travelled to St. Lucia, St. Vincent, and several West African countries to train workers for children’s ministry. She also regularly teaches classes at the Children’s Ministry Institute in Warrenton, Missouri.

MARNITA COLEMAN – “I want to be the person that helps others appreciate the amazing opportunity God has given us to oversee the development and growth of children” is a phrase that resonates with radio personality, Marnita Coleman. An ordained minister, Marnita served with a focus on congregational care, teaching and leading small groups. Over the years, her strength in community outreach, working with youth, families, and teaching parenting skills led a local church to hire her as Director of Children and Youth Ministries. The Lord has used her mightily as an author, speaker and facilitator of interactive parenting workshops, to bring restoration to the inner-city area and the congregation she served. Marnita is a noted freelance writer of parenting articles and the radio host of ‘The Marnita Show’, a 30-minute talk/music format on parenting which debuted in Toronto, Canada a few years ago and now airs everyday across the globe. It’s changing lives and impacting families.
DALE EDWARDS – began teaching children in a church setting when she was in 8th grade. A former Children’s Pastor for her local church, Dale was introduced to Child Evangelism Fellowship at a Guide Retreat where she first heard the Wordless Book presented and realized that there was a better way to teach children than just telling them Bible stories. Her passion for teaching has led this 2009 graduate of the Children’s Ministry Institute to pursue IOT certifications for TCE-1, TCE-2 and Teaching Little Kids. Since 2006, Dale has been full time staff with her local CEF chapter in Houston, TX serving as Office Administrator, Director of Donor Development, Ministry Coordinator and Instructor of Teachers.


RUTH HILBERT – is a skilled teacher with extensive training and experience working with children and youth of all ages in Maryland and around the world. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Ruth served as a summer missionary for Child Evangelism Fellowship of Greater Baltimore, worked with urban youth in Sunday School and summer camp programs throughout her high school and college years. She also spent a summer helping with Vacation Bible School programs in Mexico. Her 30-year teaching career in several Christian schools includes two years teaching missionary children in Spain, ministering to children and youth in Russia, directing children’s outreach with mission teams in Trinidad, and at mission conferences for Chinese and Arab believers. Her passion for children led her to develop and direct the Children’s Church ministry at her previous church for eight years. Ruth has served as a mentor at Liberty Learning Center in Baltimore City and currently serves in her church’s children’s ministry and continues to teach Good News Clubs each year.

ODDET MEARS – is a native of Baltimore who received Jesus as her Savior at age 33. She was called into full-time ministry with Child Evangelism Fellowship in 1990. She laid her foundation as a gifted teacher by graduating from CEF’s Children’s Ministry Institute, ministering at Good News Clubs, 5 Day Clubs and assisting with teacher training. Oddet is a Certified Biblical Counselor from the Christian Research and Development School with extensive counseling experience that aided in her ability to minister to teenage girls for 14 years with Teen Haven in Pennsylvania. Since returning to Baltimore in 2011, Oddet reconnected with CEF and serves as a Training Specialist, GNC teacher, and helps administratively. She is also a proud graduate of the Baltimore School of the Bible which gave her a solid foundation in her walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.

DAVID MOYER – Dave serves as Lead Pastor of Perry Hall Baptist Church and brings over 25 years of experience in both church and business, as well as a passion for teaching and discipleship. Along with serving as a pastor at PHBC, Dave serves as the Executive Director of the Maryland Bible Society- an organization dedicated to the distribution and engagement of God’s Word.

SANDRA RENEE WALKER – is a gifted Good News Club Coordinator and a Teacher Trainer for Child Evangelism Fellowship of the Greater Washington, DC Metro Area. Miss Renee, as she’s called by the children she teaches, joined the staff of Child Evangelism Fellowship® (CEF) in 2001 as a full-time missionary. She anchors her ministry to Proverbs 11:30, “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life and he that winneth souls is wise” which she learned as a child. A graduate of Howard University School of Communications, Washington, DC and the Children’s Ministries Institute™, Warrenton, MO, Renee is the former Director of Membership at the National Association for the Education of Young Children who desires to see many children and families come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior and to see boys and girls grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

ALISHA WILLIAMS – is a certified Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aid counselor and Head of the Inspire Special Needs Ministry at Colonial Baptist Church. A veteran of the Maryland Army National Guard, Alisha’s work with military Chaplains and Chaplain’s Assistants was enhanced by her ministry to Christ through her local church. She has actively served in Sunday school, the choir, Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU), Drama Ministry, Hands of Glory Deaf Ministry, Ebenezer International Ministries, the Health and Wellness Ministry, and is a committed member of Greater Grace World Outreach in Baltimore City. Her life verse is “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus”. Philippians 4:6-7

DR. MARTHA WRIGHT – has served for 47 years in Child Evangelism Fellowship. Dr. Wright has extensive experience in leadership, serving as a missionary and Director of Education for Latin America for 15 years and 20 years as Vice President of Education for CEF worldwide. A visionary and innovative leader, Dr. Wright led the launch and establishment of the Teaching Children Effectively® training program which has trained over three million Christians in over 180 countries in the past five years. Martha holds a B.A. from Simpson University, a Masters in counseling from Liberty University and earned a doctorate in education from NOVA Southeastern University. Since August 2010, Dr. Wright has been the Executive Director for CEF of Maryland.

EDNA ZURAW – recently celebrated 60 years in the ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship. For 17 years she served as a local director for the Greater Baltimore area in Maryland, but in 1980 God called her to minister in St. Louis, MO and to teach at CEF’s Children’s Ministries Institute. As a member of CEF’s Department of Education, Edna traveled worldwide helping to launch the innovative Teaching Children Effectively® program. Her favorite position was Director of the Children’s Ministries Institute in which she served for 12 years. Since 2009, Edna has been back in Maryland serving in the ministry as a semi-retired volunteer. She continues to teach at CMI and is in demand as a speaker for conferences, banquets, workshops and other events.
